Our Program

Purposeful Pairings. Proven Pedigrees. Puppies with a Future.

At Bishop Bullyz, our breeding program is guided by intention—not volume, trends, or shortcuts. Every decision we make, from pairing selection to puppy placement, is rooted in long-term health, functional structure, and the overall well-being of the dogs we produce.

We approach our program as stewards of the breed, carefully evaluating pedigrees, structure, and temperament to ensure each generation moves forward with purpose. This thoughtful approach allows us to produce Bulldogs that are not only beautiful, but built to live full, healthy lives as cherished companions.

Health Comes First

Purpose-driven breeding, never shortcuts.

We begin with comprehensive health testing on every breeding dog before they are ever considered for our program. All of our dogs are genetically tested and cleared, and we are actively working toward OFA evaluations for all working dogs—starting with our studs. Our goal is to ensure strong hearts, healthy joints, sound movement, and overall functional soundness, because health isn’t just important—it’s everything.

After losing our beloved companion, Jubilee, before her third birthday, our heartbreak became the driving force behind our breeding program. That loss gave us a deep passion for doing better by the breed and for raising healthy French Bulldogs with sound structure and wonderful temperaments, so families can enjoy their dogs for many years to come.

Because of this, our litters are thoughtfully planned with longevity in mind, including clear airways, strong spines, stable structure, and careful pairing decisions that prioritize long-term well-being over shortcuts or trends.

Structure Matters

Primary Structure

Structure begins with what can be evaluated — balance, proportion, and correctness.
At Bishop Bullyz, primary structure is never an afterthought. It is intentionally evaluated from the ground up, using the same foundational principles respected by preservation-minded breeders and judges alike. We focus on proper angulation, balanced proportions, strong toplines, correct fronts and rears, and overall symmetry that supports both movement and longevity.
Each pairing is planned with structure in mind, not trends or shortcuts. Dogs are assessed in a controlled, stacked position to evaluate how the pieces fit together — how the shoulders lay back, how the rear supports drive, and how balance is maintained from head to tail. This level of evaluation allows us to make informed decisions that protect the integrity of the breed and avoid structural faults that can compromise comfort or health later in life.
Primary structure is the blueprint. It is what allows a Bulldog to move efficiently, breathe comfortably, and age gracefully. Without it, nothing else truly holds.

Real World Structure

Built to move. Built to live.

While primary structure shows us the blueprint, real world structure proves it. At Bishop Bullyz, we believe structure must function beyond a stack — it must support a dog’s ability to live a full, active, and comfortable life.
Real world structure is evaluated through natural movement, stability, and endurance. We look at how our dogs carry themselves during play, walks, exploration, and everyday life. Proper structure allows for smooth, efficient movement, strong footing, and ease of breathing — not just for a photo, but for years to come.
Our Bulldogs are not bred to be ornamental. They are bred to move confidently, engage with their environment, and thrive as true companions. This is why we value candid, real-life imagery just as much as structured evaluations. When form and function align, the result is a Bulldog that not only looks correct, but feels correct — comfortable in their body and capable in their world.
Structure isn’t proven in one moment. It’s proven over time.

Temperament

Bred for companionship, stability, and heart.

Temperament is just as important to us as health and structure. Our Bulldogs are bred first and foremost to be exceptional companions — confident, affectionate, and emotionally sound. We prioritize stable nerves, human-focused personalities, and dogs that thrive as true family members.
From the very beginning, our puppies are raised in a hands-on, family environment. They are exposed to everyday sights, sounds, handling, and routine interactions that help build confidence and resilience. This early foundation plays a critical role in shaping well-adjusted puppies who transition smoothly into their new homes.
We place a strong emphasis on producing Bulldogs that are loving, intuitive, and eager to connect with their people — dogs that fit seamlessly into family life, whether that means curling up on the couch, playing with children, or confidently navigating new environments.
At Bishop Bullyz, temperament is never an afterthought. It is intentionally cultivated, carefully evaluated, and protected in every pairing we make.

Sound minds matter just as much as sound bodies.

Meet The Breeders

Chad & Leah Bishop

Bishop Bullyz is a family-owned and operated French and English Bulldog breeding program built on purpose, integrity, and heart. Our program was born from both love and loss. Losing our beloved Frenchie, Jubilee, to a genetic disease that could have been prevented changed everything for us. That heartbreak lit a fire to learn more, do better, and raise Bulldogs with health, structure, temperament, and longevity at the forefront.
Leah oversees every aspect of the breeding program. From researching pedigrees and planning intentional pairings to puppy development, placement, and ongoing family support, every decision runs through her hands. If you’ve reached out to Bishop Bullyz, you’ve almost certainly spoken directly with Leah — she believes strongly in building real relationships with the families who trust us with their future companions.
Chad works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. From daily care and maintenance to ensuring our dogs’ environment is clean, safe, and structured, his role is essential to maintaining the high standard of care our program is known for. His steady presence allows our dogs to thrive in a calm, well-managed environment.
Our daughter, Selah, is an important part of everyday life with our dogs and puppies. Through daily interaction, play, and affection, she helps our puppies learn early that people bring comfort, confidence, and love. This kind of early, natural socialization plays a huge role in shaping stable, family-oriented temperaments.
Our puppies are raised underfoot in our home — not in kennels — and are exposed to real-life routines from the very beginning. We incorporate early neurological stimulation, confidence-building exercises, and structured routines to help each puppy develop into a well-balanced companion.
Temperament is just as important to us as health and structure. While every dog has its own personality, we prioritize intelligence, trainability, and stable temperaments in our breeding dogs. Bulldogs should be affectionate, responsive, and capable companions — not stubborn or difficult by default. Many of our puppies have gone on to succeed in advanced training environments, which starts with the foundation we build early on.
At Bishop Bullyz, our responsibility doesn’t end when a puppy goes home. We offer lifetime support to our families and proudly consider them part of our extended Bishop Bullyz family. Our goal isn’t just to place puppies — it’s to create lasting bonds between dogs and families who will love them for years to come.
